A Week to Remember

Updated: Jun 12, 2023

There has been a TON of synchronicities in my life recently.

Well to be fair, there have probably always been a ton of synchronicities in my life (in all of our lives, really), but I've only within the last year or so started to recognize and appreciate them.

The most recent example was walking across a sun dial set to Greenwich Mean Time just moments before the 11th minute of the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

The quote read:

"To carve out dials quaintly, point by point, thereby to see the minutes how they run: how many makes the hour full complete, how many hours brings about the day, how many days will finish up the year, how many years a mortal man may live. " - Shakespeare.

I know some of you probably think I'm crazy :) But, I actually thought it was really cool.

I hadn't planned on it, so it was really special to mark the moment by walking past something designed to record that moment in time.

Anyway - first things first - ITEMS I HAVE LEARNED TODAY

-The British raise the tone of their voices when they say goodbye. It's incredibly amusing when you are overhearing a heated conversation. Because the end of it sounds like they are going to break out into song. This would be much better to impersonate, but my words will have to suffice.

-Corker - something funny or attractive - "an absolute corker"

So this weekend been pretty incredible. Actually, the week has been one for the books. Including but not limited to:

  • Successfully presenting to the executives of my current company.

  • Winning a lifetime membership from a company that has come to be a huge part of my life.

I have shifted my focus in the last few days. I noticed that recently, I was stressing myself out trying to figure out my "what's next." I was also spending way too much time worrying about how I was going to manage everything I think that I have to do.

I've made it a point to take a step back and NOT focus on the worry and the stress. To be in the present moment, and enjoy my time in London.

So this weekend... I did just that.

On Friday, I went and watched my friend Emi perform at her old dance school. That was amazing.

Saturday I saw this:

IT WAS SO GOOD. I might be slightly biased though as Matilda was my favorite book as a child, so my inner child was rejoicing :) The kids in the play were incredible. They actually out shone some of the adults!

En route to the play after walking past the golden jubilee sun dial (pictured above), I also came across not one but two Remembrance day celebrations.

And now? Well now, I'm off to go grab some junk food to head to my friend Melly's to "study" aka catch up, watch really bad movies and eat way too much pizza, chocolate and cheese.

Do I still have more work to do for my Metropolitan Police project? Yes.

But, what I'm learning to do is make the most of the moment, trust that the work well get done, and enjoy exactly where I am at, right here, right now.

So this week has been full of those magical moments because I have it made a point to live in the moment and be aware of them.

More to come, but right now I need to go and purchase some Doritos that I will be shoving down my face shortly :)
