Activating the Chakra's and visiting Horus and Sobek

Updated: Oct 17, 2019

So as you may or may not know, I am in the process of writing my first trilogy series called "The Crown Jewels." I have completed the first pass of Book One, and am at the half way point of Book Two. The chakra's and meditating, activating and cleansing them are a prominent theme/activity within Book One and Book Two.

Right around this time, Kathianne (CSL Spiritual Director who was leading this trip along with Quest Travel), announced that this particular trip would be unlike any she had completed before. She felt called to research sacred spaces within Egypt (and along our trip) where we would be activating each one of our chakra's. I was beyond thrilled about this! As they play such a prominent role in my writing, it was amazing to have them surface during this sacred trip.

We started with the first (the root chakra) at a place called Elephantine Island. We took a boat across the Nile and found a place in the sun to conduct the ritual. Kathianne said "It's going to be hot, but worth it..." and it was.

I was also incredibly grateful for Ahmed for being able to accommodate this change to itinerary and get us "across the waters" so to speak and over to the Island.

We next made our way to the Dual Temple of Kom Ombo. As it says in the itinerary for the trip: "This dramatic temple poised between the edge of the river and the encroaching desert sand was dedicated to two gods - Sobek the crocodile god of strength, fortitude, fertility and rebirth, and Horus the hawk-headed son of Isis and Osiris. The duality of light/dark, yin/yang, conscious/unconscious is apparent in this ancient site. One of the most powerful places in Kom Ombo is the Seat of Neutrality, which is placed on the exact centerline between the parts of the temple that are dedicated to Horus/Sobek and Light/Dark"

We activated our sacral chakra's here and did a bit healing before Safaa lead us through the history of the place
